Lines & Wrinkles

Facial lines and wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. They can occur due to various factors, including the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin, repetitive facial expressions, sun exposure, and lifestyle choices. Here are some common treatment options for addressing facial lines and wrinkles:

Botulinum Toxin Injections:

Botulinum toxin type A, commonly known as Botox, is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines. This treatment can smoothen the skin’s appearance.

Dermal Fillers:

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be injected into the skin to add volume and fill in deep lines and wrinkles. They can help reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and vertical lip lines.

Chemical Peels:

Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outer layers and stimulates collagen production. This can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Laser and Light Therapies:

Laser resurfacing treatments, such as fractional laser therapy, use laser energy to remove damaged skin and stimulate collagen production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy targets pigmentation irregularities and can improve the texture and tone of the skin, reducing the visibility of wrinkles.

Sagging Skin

Sagging Skin

Sagging skin on the face is a common concern that occurs due to the natural aging process, loss of collagen and elastin fibers, and the effects of gravity. Here’s some information on face-sagging skin:

Causes of Face Sagging:

Aging: As we age, the production of collagen and elastin in the skin decreases, leading to a loss of skin elasticity and firmness. Sun exposure: Prolonged exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays can damage the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers, accelerating the sagging process. Lifestyle factors: Unhealthy habits like smoking, poor nutrition, lack of exercise, and inadequate skincare can contribute to premature skin aging and sagging.

Common Areas Affected:

Jawline and jowls: Sagging skin around the jawline and jowls can create a less defined facial contour. Cheeks and midface: Loss of volume and sagging in the midface can result in a sunken appearance and drooping cheeks. Neck and chin: Sagging skin in the neck area can lead to the appearance of a “turkey neck” or a double chin.

Treatment Options:

Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can restore volume and lift sagging skin, improving facial contours. Thread Lifts: Minimally invasive procedure involving the insertion of dissolvable sutures to lift and tighten sagging skin.

It’s important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or cosmetic surgeon to determine the most suitable treatment option based on your specific concerns and desired outcomes.

Acne

Acne is very common and can flare at any age. Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. It can affect people of all ages, but it’s most common in teenagers and young adults. Acne can appear as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, or cysts, and it can occur on the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. Here at DRS Clinic, we take the time to really understand the impact that acne can have on our patients.

We take a holistic approach when treating acne patients which involves

  • Optimisation of internal health
  • How to treat the sebaceous glands using medical grade skincare/peels
  • Improving skin health

We also understand how important it is to be supported throughout the journey as it can be a difficult one both physically and mentally.

Tired eyes

Tired eyes

Tired-looking eyes can occur due to a variety of factors, including lack of sleep, stress, aging, dehydration, and genetics. Here’s some information on tired-looking eyes:

Causes of Tired-Looking Eyes:

Lack of sleep: Not getting enough sleep can cause dark circles, puffiness, and a tired appearance around the eyes. Stress: Emotional stress and anxiety can cause tension in the muscles around the eyes, leading to puffiness and dark circles. Aging: As we age, the skin around the eyes becomes thinner and less elastic, leading to the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.

Common Signs of Tired-Looking Eyes:

Dark circles: Dark pigmentation or discoloration around the eyes can make you look tired and aged. Puffiness: Swelling around the eyes can create a fatigued and droopy appearance. Fine lines and wrinkles: These lines can develop due to aging, sun damage, and lifestyle factors like smoking and lack of sleep. Hollows under the eyes: Volume loss under the eyes can create a sunken appearance, making you look tired and aged.

Treatment Options:

Eye creams: Topical treatments containing caffeine, vitamin C, and retinoids can help reduce puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. Dermal Fillers: Injecting hyaluronic acid-based fillers can help restore volume and reduce the appearance of hollows under the eyes. Chemical peels: These exfoliating treatments can improve the texture and tone of the skin around the eyes. Laser and light therapies: Certain lasers and light-based devices can improve skin texture, reduce pigmentation, and stimulate collagen production.

It’s important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or cosmetic surgeon to determine the most suitable treatment option based on your specific concerns and desired outcomes.

Thin lips

Thin lips can be a cosmetic concern for some individuals who desire fuller, more voluminous lips. While lip thickness is largely determined by genetics, there are several options available to enhance the appearance of thin lips.

Treatment Options:

Dermal fillers, typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA), can be injected into the lips to add volume and shape. HA fillers provide a temporary solution, usually lasting between 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used.

The filler is injected into specific areas of the lips to create a fuller look. The procedure is typically performed by a qualified healthcare professional or cosmetic surgeon.

It’s important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or cosmetic surgeon to determine the most suitable treatment option based on your specific concerns and desired outcomes. They can assess your lips and provide personalized recommendations.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation

Face pigmentation refers to the presence of dark spots, patches, or uneven skin tone on the face. It can be caused by various factors, including sun exposure, hormonal changes, genetics, aging, and certain medical conditions.

Types of Face Pigmentation:

Melasma: A common type of pigmentation that appears as brown or gray-brown patches on the face, usually triggered by hormonal changes, such as pregnancy or oral contraceptive use. Hyperpigmentation: This refers to the darkening of certain areas of the skin due to an excess production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. It can be caused by sun damage, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) after acne or skin injury, or certain medical conditions.

Age spots or liver spots: These are flat, tan, or brown spots that appear with age and sun exposure, usually on areas of the skin that are frequently exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, and shoulders. Freckles: Small, flat, brown spots that are often genetic and become more pronounced with sun exposure.

It’s important to consult with a dermatologist or qualified skincare professional to determine the underlying cause of your face pigmentation and to receive appropriate treatment recommendations based on your specific skin condition and concerns.

Tired eyes?

At, DRS clinic, we don’t believe in plastering over the cracks, we believe in achieving safe, natural results for our patients.  This often means that to correct the issue, the best method is to rebuild the structure around the eye area to create long-term natural and safe results.

I’ve been on a skin care journey with DRS for 2 years now after choosing Dr Singh for his medical expertise and always giving me a natural look. I think my skin looks better than ever and I get compliments about how radiant my skin is and for looking younger than my 44 years. This has been achieved by using fillers to give my cheeks more volume, Botox to reduce fine lines and lip fillers to give me a natural looking pout but giving me volume that has been lost over the years. I like to have treatments in between these products such as the Hydrafacial which makes my skin feel so refreshed and adds lots of moisture, and Facebright after the summer to reduce sun damage and skin pigmentation. It’s been an investment that I’m really pleased, with as above all, it’s really helped with my confidence & self esteem!

After having a bad Tear Through filler experience at a different clinic, I came to Dr Rashpal Singh at the Middlesbrough DRS Clinic for help. My eyes had been left swollen and bruised. Dr Rashpal Singh was extremely professional and talked me through what had happened and the processes to follow to rectify the mistakes - which was to dissolve the filler. He explained the filler had been superficially placed and I wouldn’t be an ideal candidate for the procedure in the first place. His approach was so caring, I felt very at ease. The dissolving procedure was smooth. I’ve left feeling so happy with my experience. Both Dr Rashpal Singh and all the staff at the clinic made me feel so welcome and looked after. I look forward to returning in the future to continue my aesthetics journey with DRS. I am so glad I decided to come to DRS.
